“Be Like Water.” —Bruce Lee

Mixing elements is so satisfying. Anyone familiar with my illustrations has probably seen this woman. Possibly more than once.

A photograph of the ocean sits behind her, but with some added blur and drama, it almost seems like she’s under water.

While I’m currently obsessing about fashion design, I know deep down that it’s something I’ll admire from afar. Bringing this girl’s flowing gown into the mix gave me that designer satisfaction, without all of the measuring, cutting, and sewing. I can live with that!

I love the Bruce Lee quote because – regardless of my high stress and anxiety levels at times – I’ve always been good at adapting. I might freak out at first, but once the dust settles… I enjoy making the best of the worst.

Maybe that’s why I love redos and revisions. Things don’t always have to be shiny and new, just different! Anyway, I think that’s all for now.
