“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun.” -Mary Lou Cook

I’ve gone through some of my old posts and images and I’ve found several series that I want to continue on with. I’m going to call them collections or categories though – the word series is OUT.
This illustration is a combination of sorts. It’s a revamp of an image from 2022 that I shared HERE. It was an experiment that was inspired by something I saw by Georgy Kurasov.
I wanted to accentuate the lines this time, to make it more like faux stained glass and then I’ve added some things to spruce it up without using anything outside of Illustrator.
When I was finished, I thought it looked like there’s a target on this poor woman (unplanned, of course), hence the title. She reminds me of a spy… and it looks like maybe someone is spying on the spy??
Anyway, when I found the quote, it solidified the title for me because the quote is on the mark as well – it is so true! I may put that quote above my desk to remind myself that this is all about fun (and breaking rules… yay!!).
I have a pretty long list of categories and I can confidently say that I’m set for the rest of the year, and probably the next. I shouldn’t run out of ideas or inspiration, that’s for sure.
I’m not going to talk about the list right now because I’m still working on ways to organize everything, but I will tell you that my “Diet” series is a NO GO this time around. If you weren’t here for that, let’s just say that it didn’t go well. Worse than most.
My head’s a little burnt out right now so there’s not much else to share. I’m working on another paper and had a discussion due today, so my thinking cap is fried. That’s probably why I enjoyed the illustration so much… it was my creative time.
Thank you so much for looking/reading… I hope you enjoyed!
Until next time,
Cheers!
