I thought this was a perfect illustration for my post this evening.
Originally, I was only going to do the woman’s head (see below), but I decided to add a body because I wanted to practice poses. The girl was done in Illustrator and then I added the photograph of a book because I was too tired to illustrate the book myself (haha!). Continue reading →

I’ve been playing around now that my story is over. I start feeling so rebellious when I give myself an agenda like that. When I’m finished I like to do something that just feels good, or that helps me feel free again. Usually it’s some kind of wild, psychedelic abstract, which reminds me of scribbling as a child when you’re really, really mad.
I found some inspiration and wanted to try this one. It’s not psychedelic, but I think the woman expresses freedom, and the shedding of inhibitions. Not in a bad way, mind you, but in a way that helps me rid my feelings of uncomfortableness (or is it discomfort?).
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about the war a lot (like everyone else), so maybe it’s my form of protest for tonight. I think I should have put a helmet on her, bearing a peace symbol on it. Another edit for another day.
That’s about all. Just shaking the blues and getting ready for bed.
