Seeing Red

I thought I’d go retro for this one. I’m grasping at straws here because anything that is not my story will work tonight.

I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place with that, so if you are reading this and were hoping for the ending, or even a continuation into Part 3 of the story, I apologize.

Sadly, I made the perfect illustration for it too… but it’s going to stay in hiding until I can write again. I’ve been sleeping too little for no apparent reason, and it’s messing with my head.

So, I did a revamp today! The umbrella was part of a previous illustration, featured in the post Vintage Appeal. In case you don’t feel like clicking (hehe), I’ve shared it below.

I’ll tell you why I love to redo my artwork… because I can see how I’ve improved, or what mistakes I used to make, that I (hopefully) now know how to avoid. Kind of like life! How ironic.

Personally, I think my new illustration is way better than the last, but they are different styles as well, so it’s like comparing apples to donuts…

I was really getting into the red, so when the cup in her hand started to give me problems, I used a can of coke instead. Now it looks like a retro Coca Cola advertisement.

I still have a long way to go, but looking back in time has shown me that I’ve come a long way, too! So I’m cool with that.

Anyway, I’m not going to string you along about the story. I’ve gotta walk away, get better sleep, and see if something hits me tomorrow. Or the next day. It’ll be done when it’s done… that’s about all I can say.

I hope you’ve been having a wonderful week… Friday is right around the corner! Or already here for some of you?

Wishing you a fabulous weekend,
-Janet

    I love this picture.

And I love the fact she’s drinking Coca-Cola my favourite soft drink (even though I know it’s bad for me).

Thanks Christopher! I know I love it too. I’m not supposed to have sugar so I started the diet cokes – now and then – just to get my coke on hahaha.
