A Date with Santa

AND IT LOOKS LIKE HE’S LATE!

Well… it’s 2020, so that would end the year in a way that is par for the course. We laid out the red carpet for him and everything! And now that I mentioned “par for the course,” it would have been fun to put a hole out there in those green mountains with a flagstick in it. Ha! Maybe that’s where Santa is… he’s GOLFING!

I thought this image was perfect for tonight’s Everything Red and my countdown to Christmas. It was actually inspired by a couple of Pinterest finds. I was going for the stained glass look when I started out, but as things progressed it went a little haywire.

Anyway… I’m not going to say much else because it’s late and I’m tired and if I try to go on it will probably sound like babble. So… that’s all for now.

I hope you enjoyed the image,

And have a wonderful weekend!

The Window

There’s a world out there. Open a window, and it’s there.

ROBIN WILLIAMS

One of the things I love about blogging is the places it takes our minds. I found this Robin Williams quote today while looking to see what fun things people had said about windows.

I knew it was right the minute I saw it, because it seems so appropriate today with all of the shut downs and stay at home orders. There’s still a world out there beyond our little abodes, but you have to look a little harder to see it.

I did do some shopping today with my mom, and I was kind of surprised at the lack of hustle and bustle that you usually see on our streets before Christmas. And I know I have trouble sticking with a plan, but if I don’t get out there and start walking and doing some strength training after the holidays I think I might develop a bad case of sarcopenia (muscle loss from aging).

Maybe you’re already familiar with that word (sarcopenia), but I just learned about it the other day as one of the men in my class is writing his paper on it. It does have to do with aging, but you can help keep it at bay with strength training. I know my muscles aren’t what they used to be and I’m anxious to get back into my New Lifestyle, New Me frame of mind and get busy with it.

Anyway, it appears that this has been an experimental week for me. I had fun doing this image today, after my studies and shopping were done, and I like the comic book look it has. I think that if this woman wants to see the world outside of her window… she might need to get her head out of her hat. Ha-Ha!

And she’s #2 to be added to my resurrected series called Everything Red. This one for sure needs some line work, but I’m more focused on feeling out ideas right now—rather than worrying about perfection. What I’m thinking I might do is a few images like this that are actual portraits of people. We’ll see.

I’m going to keep up with stained glass images but the one that I want to do next is VERY intricate, so I need time and patience and these two things are running a little low at the moment. Soon though!

That’s about it I think. Thanks for reading… I hope you found something enjoyable here!

See you all soon,
Janet
