Hidden in the sticks,
Forbidden love, house of tricks,
Lonely man finds joy.
I’m sorry. A little rough around the edges there, but what the hell. Couldn’t resist. I’m finding solace in humor and lightheartedness these days. Anyway… this is a recycled image from the old copper mining town of Jerome (Arizona), once known as the “wickedest town in the west.” Today it is home to about 450 residents (many of them artists) and it’s a fun tourist attraction that I had the pleasure of visiting. My haiku is a bit literal, as the building shown really WAS a bordello back in the day. Now it houses a quaint little gift shop.
That’s about all for now. Peace & Love, and may your day be a great one!

It does look like a fun tourist place… I had no idea Jerome was the wickedest town in the west…somehow I suspect many towns would enjoy laying claim to the title, haha 🙂

You’re probably right! Well… this was back in the early 1900’s I think, so maybe there weren’t quite so many wicked places back then.

Well, the Bible tells me “wicked” has been alive and well, thriving whether in cities or wilderness 🙂

I didn’t want to put too fine a point on it, haha!! When I’m reading the Old Testament I have to catch myself…tsk-tsking over all the sin–as though I’m lily white! That’s why we’re warned about comparisons–we can end up sounding like the Pharisees, “plagued” with pride 🙂 Hope your week is going well, Janet…it already feels like Friday to me–I must be craving a break!
