Every act of creation is first an act of destruction.
—Pablo Picasso—
Today I did a different kind of portrait; depicting the wild parrots that fly around town. Since I haven’t been in the mood to illustrate, I went heavy on the effects.
I thought it would be cool to make it look like it was drawn or hand painted. The way the parrot was sitting made it awkward, and I wanted to get a close-up of his/her claws. So… I deconstructed and reconstructed.
I cropped the head and moved it down. Now it looks like there are two! No? 🙂
Word of the Day Challenge: Illustrate
Cool enhancements and rearrangements, Janet. It’s fun to experiment with art.

Thanks and yes it is! I keep telling myself to do something else (like maybe take a walk) but it is so fun to create things. 😄

Love those red crown parrots. Noisy, fun, noisy…boisterous and a bit comical. We have a few flocks here in San Diego

Yes we hear them almost every day. I love them! They like our loquat tree and our neighbor has walnut tree maybe? They go up there and yap. This one I took a photo of finally saw me when I got too close. Flew right over my head yelling haha.
