Cowabunga…

I’m out of my comfort zone!
I’ve been wanting to do an abstract wave for some time now. I kept putting it off because ‘me and Illustrator’ aren’t the best of friends. Those pen tools are obnoxious!
So much has been happening in my head lately. Mainly… thoughts about pushing through when I’m a little fearful or don’t feel confident about certain things.
Illustration is one of those things. It’s one thing to take a photograph and create art from it, but it’s a whole different animal to create something from nothing. I don’t draw. People always tell me “anyone can learn to draw!”
I look at my stick figures and say, “hmm… I don’t think so.” 🙂
Anyway… I decided to get tough and keep pushing through so eventually I’ll get comfortable with illustration… and I’m sharing my first design.
Good, bad, or indifferent… it doesn’t matter. I can try new things, or I can do the same old thing; over and over. Today I’m excited because I stepped out of my comfort zone and chose to try something new!
If you do what you always did, you’ll get what you always got.
I think we’ve all at some time experienced this, Janet. Same goes for me and drawing too. How I wish I could! Love your illustration. And your final quote happens to be one of my mantras! A lovely post! Keep at it! 🙏

Janet, your illustration looks great! I am not an artist at all so you display far more courage than myself.

This is a positive piece. For me I love art that moves me emotionally. As well I love the red fins in the left corner– could be sharks or dolphins, well done ! 🙂
