I thought I was done with my ‘female’ illustrations, but they’re always so eye-catching. To me anyway. I’ve considered animals and landscapes but always end up with something that looks too cartoony.
I’m going to try something different on my next one. So… I suppose this is my take on Bauhaus. I’ve never been a big fan, and I’m not sure that I’ve captured the style – but it’s definitely different.
I’ve been reading a lot of articles on psychology (goes with the territory) mainly focusing on the ‘cognitive shifts’ that take place in recovery – and all I can think is that I could really use one of those right now.
I need something to catapult me into a new way of thinking. I suppose that’s why I’ve been trying new things in my illustrations. Same old, same old gets boring. If I could only project my thoughts onto my artwork…
Anyway, my shares aren’t my own unless I add some humor. I had to laugh because it almost looks like she’s bowling. Or juggling bowling balls perhaps.
It didn’t start out that way, but once the circles were added and being moved around I noticed that her hands were ready to grab them – so there you have it.
I’m not sure what’s next, but illustrating has been very cathartic lately. As long as it’s working, I’ll keep chugging along. I’ve been thinking about writing again, but I’m not quite there yet.
I started working on a flower and it just wasn’t working for me. I’m considering an alphabet game again, just to give me some letters to think about. We’ll see. I need to look around and see what inspires me.
Until later,
Thanks for looking!
