Well I’m not one for poetry,
But my life is like a song.
I am the beat,
You are the melody,
That’s why I need you along.
Now the words don’t come easy,
But I’ve got so much to say.
You got the soul,
I got the rhythm,
And it is music…
… that we play.
So I will sing you a love song,
Though I can’t carry a tune.
You are the light,
In my dark sky,
Just like the stars…
… and the moon.
CHORUS:
We are so good together.
And I just need you to see.
I gotta have you,
Here beside me,
‘Cause you’re my sweet…
… symphony
Well, I said that I was going to be adventurous… that I would try new things… and that I’d keep myself (and you) guessing. So I decided to try my hand at song lyrics.
I love it! One thing that makes me crazy is that I always set out to write something poetic that doesn’t literally rhyme, but I get trapped into doing it anyway. I find myself googling stuff like, “words that rhyme with room.” How annoying! You really lose any intensity when you can’t write a line unless it ends in a word like doom, or gloom, or boom.
Maybe the issue stems from the fact that I’ve never really been good/serious at poetry… hence, the opening line to the song. Haha!
On another note, it’s obviously difficult to convey how it sounds to music, but I’ve got the beat and rhythm in my head and it’s a country blues kind of sound. Kid Rock? The Black Crowes? And the chorus gets a little loud and steamy. hehehe.
Anyway, I thought I’d stick to the norm by adding a featured image for my song… and I’m not sure if the illustration enhances it or takes something away, but it’s done nonetheless and so I’m including it. I’d feel naked without an image!
Well… that’s about all for now. Thanks for looking and reading. I hope you enjoyed my song lyrics and illustration! I wonder what’s next?!
Until then,
Peace and LOVE.
