Today seemed like a good day for some lightheartedness. The image is a remake of a character that was in one of my short (somewhat) graphic novels. Basically, I’m pretty sure that all I changed was her skirt (and the background of course).
I’m not sure how I got the idea of “airing her dirty laundry,” but that’s what I thought of when I looked at her (which is why I added the clothesline).
Maybe it was the way she’s standing. It looks like the posture of someone who just got caught coming out of the shower (but she’s fully clothed!).
I guess that kind of led me to believe that she’s embarrassed about something else, and I decided that maybe she got caught with some of her clothes still hanging on the clothesline. Her underwear perhaps? I know for sure I see a bra hanging there.
Anyway, it all seemed appropriate for the amount of information I’ve been sharing about myself. It’s like I’ve been doing just that… airing my laundry.
I took out the “dirty” because I’m pretty sure that my shares are Rated PG at the very worst (except for the underwear and bra remark maybe). And the things I share aren’t exactly newsworthy either.
Realistically though, this image makes a whole lot of sense for where I’m at in my journey because – whether or not my personal thoughts are radical, or racy, or even boring – they are still my thoughts.
And when you share your own honest thoughts like that, you feel just a wee bit vulnerable. And that’s what her pose looks like to me. A depiction of my (teeny tiny) vulnerability.
I think my sense of humor keeps it all from blowing up. Honestly, no matter what I say or confess about myself, I find a great deal of it funny. I think honesty and transparency does that – it makes you feel lighter.
Anyway, I don’t want to go on and on. Like I said, I’m keeping it light today. Mainly I wanted to share my revamp and say thanks for always looking and listening.
Also… about the image. I did want to say that I also relate to it because we DO dry our clothes on a clothesline. No dryer in this house… no siree. And now you know!
That’s all for now. I hope you enjoyed something here!
