Vigilante Justice

“Say your prayers, varmint… dead rabbits tell no tales.” -Yosemite Sam

I went out on a limb here and chose the word Vigilante for the simple reason that I wanted to illustrate a cartoon vigilante-type man. That being said, any logical or meaningful commentary will be hard to come by.

I’m still learning (playing with) the new program and plugin that I talked about a few posts ago, so I layered a photograph of some kind of demolished building with my illustration.

I did cartoon and brush effects, and then some additional effects in my iPhone app, so it’s hard to read what’s on his hat… but it used to say “Don’t Tread on Me.”

Vigilante: a person who takes the law into their own hands, often motivated by a desire to punish criminals or avenge perceived injustices when they believe the legal system is failing.

Google AI also brought up the fact that the internet has become a hotbed for vigilantism, with the targeting of perceived wrongdoers and public shaming (which requires no weapon… but can still do significant damage).

I can’t say that I condone vigilantism because I tend to believe that human beings are too flawed (think Adam and Eve and pretty much everything thereafter) to make those kinds of judgement calls.

But then I stumbled on this quote…

Don’t underestimate the power of the vigilante consumer.” — Anita Roddick.

…and I thought… “Oh YES! I can be THAT kind of vigilante.

I think that’s all for now. Like I said, not a lot of valuable info here, but my image was a ‘BLAST‘.

I hope you enjoyed!

Thanks for reading or viewing and I’ll see you around soon for the letter W (you siwwy wabbit).
