Peep Show

I had to take the evening off from overthinking my Less is More adventure. Not that I haven’t been doing things… it’s more so that trying to think of images I can create, that relate to the subject, gets kind of boring.

So, YES, I did go through that bin and manage to create a very large donation box, so progress is being made. And as I say that, I’ll also mention that the meaning behind my title is actually twofold.

The vignette/border of the image made me think of a peep hole, especially since a look through the window allows you to see inside of the Oklahoma bar, Coyote Ugly.

On the other hand, peep show also reminded me of how it sometimes feels when I share my ‘thought journal’ here.

There was a time in my life when the things I had to talk about might have been as wild as what you see here in the image. The kind that might make a best seller – if you’re into that stuff. Then, the thoughts that I shared were about God, my sobriety, and my gratitude for both.

These days… my excitement revolves around organizing, minimizing, and upcycling. Wow. I do believe I’ve come full circle! Thank you Martha Stewart. Hahaha. Kidding.

It’s funny too, because I started thinking about my thrift store adventures after my last post, and it seemed pertinent to share the fact that bargain hunting may be an extension of my addictive tendencies.

There’s an adrenaline rush experienced when you find the right thing, at the right price, and it makes you feel good. Really good. So… that could be why the cheap stuff seems to accumulate around here.

Anyway, this image started as a photo that I snapped in 2009 – when I took the road trip with my youngest son, who was 22 at the time. It was a terrible snapshot, but the makings of an interesting image were there. I just had to work with it. You might say that it’s been “upcycled.”

Speaking of upcycled, I’ve got something going here at home – that involves the re-use of old magazines. I’ll be back to share more about it when I have some more done. It’s pretty cool!

That’s about all for now. Thanks for looking/reading… I hope you enjoyed!

Until next time…
Peace & love.
