Embracing Autumn

Leaves changing. Winds whistling. The smell of apples, cinnamon and pumpkin spice.

Happy Autumn! I may have said that already, but I doubt it. Fall comes to Southern California very late – in fact, it’s probably more like anticipation that I’m feeling at the moment. We still have our room fan out. Ha-Ha!

You can feel it coming, it’s just creeping in slowly. So, I wanted to try some kind of fall landscape art to get in the mood. I illustrated the scene and then added distortions to give the illusion of cold weather and winds.

I used to think it was kind of sad to take a lot of time illustrating something and then intentionally mess it up, but I decided tonight that it’s actually cathartic. It’s like my inner rebel is telling my irritable perfectionist side to chill out and back off. How cool is that!?

Anyway, I love this time of year, so I wanted to share my mood with you – via my illustration. I hope you enjoy it!

Until next time,
peace & love.
