I just heard about Yvonne Lusk from Portville… she’s been missing for a week now? What a tragedy! I’ve never met the woman, but her husband Jimmy and I go way back.
He and I did a few transactions together, when I was still “in the business”… if you know what I mean. Oh you know.
I wasn’t a streetwalker darling, I was strictly upper class. A courtesan if you will. My clients were wealthy and influential. And extremely discreet.
Jimmy was a bit of an outlier. If you met him on the street, you’d think he was a regular blue collar man – your average Joe, but that boy was loaded.
I don’t know how he made his money, or why he kept it hidden, but whenever Jimmy was around, the Benjamins were flowing. Cha-ching baby.

That was a lifetime ago. It’s been well over a decade since I left the profession. I had big dreams, so I set off to travel the world. I landed in Paris, met my lover, and I’ve never looked back.
Needless to say, I was quite shocked when I heard from Ingrid. She and I worked together for a spell. You know… in the business.

Oh… don’t get your panties in a knot… she wasn’t in it for long. It was some kind of rebel phase that she went through while she was at the University. Not a soul in Portville knows anything about it, so mum’s the word, merci beaucoup.
Apparently, some of the members of her dear old community have been turning against her, and they are accusing her of being involved in Yvonne’s disappearance.
She’s called in a favor, so I’ll be flying to America this weekend. I owe her one, you see. It’s a long story darling, and I have no time to explain.
So… if you’ll excuse me now, I have a date to get dressed for. I’m meeting mon amour at the Louvre, and then it’s off to his chateau for some private singing lessons. Va-va-voom!

TO BE CONTINUED
Well, I think we’re making progress. A little. At the very least… we’re learning something that most of us are quite familiar with – people have a past.
I hadn’t planned to go this direction at all, but I came upon a fairly popular photograph of Audrey Hepburn and she became my muse… and my model image for Deborah (our narrator today).
Forgive me if any of my French is inaccurate, haha. I had to use google translate. I will also confess that I binge watched Emily in Paris, and that’s kind of what sent me to France for this segment.
I’m not loving the backgrounds from Adobe A.I., so I’ll be changing it up on the next segment. I’ve decided that my illustrations are fairly comic/pop art – or at least that’s what I am striving for – so I’ll be using some homemade backgrounds and leaving A.I. behind. Yay!
Oh, and no offence to Elon, but I thought that Jimmy reminded me of him (the image, I mean – and maybe the flying money), which is why I gave his poor missing wife the last name Lusk. Musk seemed a little too obvious. Haha!
That’s all for now! Thanks for reading… I hope you enjoyed!!
