May you always be the one who sees the light in the little things.
-Morgan Harper Nichols

I’ve been trying to figure out what to do lately. I have some ideas for a story, but I’m not really excited about sitting down to do that. Images are fun, but sometimes I just run out of ideas.
So… I thought I’d try a colorful lighthouse. I sent my original illustration through a minor paint effects process, but then I took it to Photoshop and added some extra color and strokes of my own. That’s something I’ll do more of, for sure.
I’m pretty happy with it, and I started thinking that it would be fun to do a series of different lighthouses. Not that I’ll follow through on that idea, but it would be fun nonetheless.
Then I started thinking that maybe I need to work on my bucket list, and one thing that would be awesome would be to visit various lighthouses. Honestly, I don’t know if I’ve ever even seen one in person. How sad is that?! I’ve definitely never been inside of one. Can you go inside of them?
Anyway, once I stumbled on the quote, I knew that my evening was complete. Yes, I started by looking for something that talked about light… but it was the idea of “the little things” that really got me going.
I always forget about the little things… and life is so full of them! That’s an idea… a series of posts about little things in life. Maybe!? I’ll have to ponder that one for a bit. In the meantime, it’s just awesome to be grateful for all of the little things in my life.
What’s cool about this evening is that I found two new things. Someone new to follow on Instagram via the quote above (Morgan Harper Nichols) and a book from 1986 that I’ll be reading soon called Bus 9 to Paradise by Leo Buscaglia (via quote below). Man, my quote searches lead me to all kinds of little things!
I still get wildly enthusiastic about little things… I play with leaves. I skip down the street and run against the wind. – Leo Buscaglia
Until next time, peace and love.
