When the zephyr appears,
We flutter and sway,
A waltz in the wind,
An impassioned ballet.
If the squalls should arrive,
We’ll shake, and we’ll sing,
Let loose of the branch,
Square dance in a ring.
The birds will take part,
Building homes for the new,
Whistling with joy,
Loving chirps, or a coo.
It’s a party, my friend,
Nature offers with glee,
Come join, all are welcome,
Better yet… it is free!
The image is another recycled photo; our Ginkgo. That tree is huge, and it just keeps growing, and growing…
Anyway, I was working on it last night and this afternoon, and was tickled when I saw the Word of the Day Challenge: Zephyr. How fitting!
Not to bring up the elephant in the room, but my walking came to a halt—just for this week. In case anyone is curious. It’s been pretty hot, like in the high 90’s, so I took a little break. We put up a little pool in the backyard, to soak our feet in, and watching the birds play inspired the poem.
That’s about all for now. Peace & Love!

I like your poem. I don’t know how I will handle to heat when it is 90 degrees here. Will I take a break from walking for a bit or schedule my walks differently? I will have to wait and see.

Thank you. I’m trying to decide if it’s the heat or an excuse but it’s supposed to cool off so we’ll see here too!

I love love love this poem! And I had to smile about you having a break from walking–seriously, though, it would not be healthy to exercise in hot temps, so you’re being wise and sensible.

I think taking a break was a wise idea. Too hot is no bueno.
And the tree is beautiful

So glad.
And we had rain for a few days in a row – finally sunshine this afternoon – whew – much needed

Coo … love it. Simple word, says so much. Perfectly accentuated here. 😊

Ginkos are one of my favorite trees, and from that angle and in black and white, the leaves look like hundreds of ripples on a body of water. I love that!

Oh thank you John! I thought they looked a little like butterflies, but ripples on water sounds good too. It really is a beautiful tree,
