Food for Thought

The preparation of good food is merely another expression of art, one of the joys of civilized living.

I’m going to keep moving forward with my Garden Art series while the backyard is still full or color and blooms. There are so many edible items to work with! Sauerkraut anyone?

This infant red cabbage reminds me of a large colorful seashell. It seems magical to me. I imagine little winged pixies… flying into the dark tunnels and secret compartments… sprinkling purple fairy dust to help the garden grow.

Pray for miracles, but plant cabbages.

    1. LOL. I’ve never made my own sauerkraut from scratch but I buy a jarred brand – Polish – that is free of additives, etc. and it’s wonderful. A few weeks back I purchased Red Cabbage Sauerkraut which I was sure I’d love, but no. What happened? Let down. Different taste. Same great brand. Anyway, I’m enjoying your images and work as always. 😊🙏

    2. Good to know! I’ve never tried red either and don’t plan on making it with this. I love it in salad tho!! We have a bunch of other kinds though and I can’t wait to taste them. One is the stir fry type so that’ll be fun.
