It’s been too long! I think this is the craziest, busiest semester I’ve ever had. It’s all good though because I love (most of) my classes and there are only 3 weeks left before it’s over. YAY!

I wanted to pop in and share my latest portrait and add an update to the alphabet game… for the letter “L” —

Love & Light

I actually wanted to share some words about my love of lightning (I LOVE lightning), but the plan changed this afternoon since I didn’t prepare. But… I’ve been reading some books on Quantum physics and how it relates to God, Genesis, and the Big Bang Theory, and I think Love & Light are great words for the letter L, and a good way to sum it all up. 🙂

Believe it or not I haven’t opened my Adobe programs much since the last time I posted here… except to make graphics for my part time gig with the college. Speaking of that we had a lot of chaos going on with several fires nearby. One of our campuses had some damage. And then there was a high school shooting in the same community! It’s been crazy, stressful, and sad.

So… I’ve been wandering down some other creative avenues recently. I’m learning how to make jewelry and may take a class on that in the future. I also went to my very first paint party a few nights ago. I’m happy to report that I LOVE to paint. What a difference between drawing and painting… it’s like night and day!

Anyway, I felt like getting crazy last night. This is a portrait of my friend Sherry—the girlfriend who’s been love & light to me for years now. She’s the one that I hid in the shadows on one of my experimental portraits. She was too hard to locate in the image, so I thought I’d give it another shot.

I was actually inspired while looking at a magazine in the optometrist’s office. I saw an article on Shepard Fairey and his latest work, and I suddenly had the urge to go home and do something artsy. So there you have it. If you look at the right lens of her sunglasses you can see the negative of my shadow. 🙂

That’s about all for now. I have a softball game in a few hours and then it’s back to the books. I’m looking forward to winter break and can’t wait to stop by and catch up on my browsing… I’ve missed every single one of you!!
