Waiting for a Sign

This particular photo “upcycle” literally made my day.

While playing around in GIMP, I discovered a huge set of image manipulations in the G’MIC plugin that I wasn’t aware of – and this neon effect was perfect.

Of course, it’s not what I had intended to do, but random is so much better!

I actually thought about this image late last night. In bed. Isn’t that always when the brain goes into high gear? When you’re trying to sleep?

Anyway, after saying (outloud) that I’m looking for a purpose, I laid there and tried to think of what it might be – or at least how I might make this blog more “purposeful.”

As my wheels were spinning (with smoke coming out), frustration really started to set in and I said something that I don’t usually say to myself.

“STOP!”

That’s when I thought of this image (prior version shared here).

I decided that breaking down the monumental task of “finding a purpose” into smaller (bite size) portions might be an easier (and less stressful) way to go. For now. Post by post, you could say.

It’s either that or become paralyzed. I think the image represents my dilemma (and solution) quite well.

Kind of like the famous Nike saying “Just Do It!” – my new (possibly temporary) catchphrase is similar and just as simple… but a little less aggressive (and bossy).

Just START.

And what I’m starting to think is that maybe writing is my purpose – at least as far as the blog is concerned – so what I actually need to find is something worthwhile to write about

I figure I’ll start with that.

This is kind of exciting actually. It’s like I’m on a new journey… and I’m only at the starting blocks. That means I’ve got a heck of a lot of road to cover.

Ready… set… START.

See you soon for whatever comes next!
