Kiss from a Rose

I wanted to do something other than write tonight. My mind is tired, and I wasn’t feeling the word challenges at all. So… I thought I’d use my new illustration for a haiku instead.

A world divided,

Souls adrift between two spheres,

Hate falls, love will rise.

It’s hard to say a lot in seventeen syllables, but I think I was going for a call to peace. The word divided is such an accurate description of the world, so it was hard not to. It was either that or a love poem of some kind, and I’m definitely not in the mood for romance. Ha!

I wanted to do a “simple” illustration because I’ve decided that when I add them to my future stories I need to keep them basic so they’re not such time killers. Then I got carried away with this one, and added a real rose and some other fancy effects, so it wasn’t as effortless as I’d intended. In the future, any story I write will have a simple line drawing… just forewarning you.

That’s about all tonight.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you found something enjoyable here!

Until later,
Janet

  1. Wonderful, Vivid contrast. I notice how each line serves a clear purpose: 1) Set the scene –> 2) Subject&Verb –> 3) Prophecy! I love this one almost as much as “Soldier-On” Good song too🌹

    1. Thank you! It’s funny too because I never mean to name my posts after movies or songs but I noticed that lately they just sort of happen. Must be your influence. 🙃
