Looking Back

Looking at your past is not a bad thing. Not to brood over it, but to cherish fond memories; see what you’ve done right (and wrong); and to learn from your past mistakes. When you take it all in and reflect, you figure out what’s worth repeating, what you should do differently next time, and—more importantly—what you should never do again.

Yesterday, after finally sitting down to make some plans, I spent the day with a couple of friends, at the beach. That was definitely a day worth repeating! With my scale being tipped toward the introvert side, I can easily get stuck in solitude mode. It’s a beautiful place to be, most of the time, but it’s a bit like quicksand. The deeper in you go, the harder it is to get out!

Needless to say, a day with friends was like a breath of fresh air. I’m refreshed and energized; I feel both loved and more loving, and… I feel as though I could tackle anything right now. I’m also more grateful. I’m grateful that I finally made plans, and I’m grateful that I have such awesome friends (that goes for you too, Gil). 🙂

Anyway, I had seen Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Back of things, and I knew the minute this woman walked by that she was the one. Her back is beautiful! I think the image sums it up perfectly; Looking back can be a wonderful thing.
